The City Health Services Office recently changed it’s name from the Mental Health and Wellness Unit and is now called the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Unit.
I have seen people go through addiction. In fact there are Addiction Rehabilitation Centers here like Odyssey Rehabilitation Center. The ambience, programs, facilities and services are something to check out for at Brent Wood Village. Milestones Center near Country Club is also delivering services.
Rehabilitation centers in Baguio City have patients that come as far as Mindanao. Sometimes I wonder why – “Why do most non-residents get to Baguio City rehabilitation centers and residents get rehabilitated in provincial rehabilitation places?” I think stigma is one existing at home that sometimes a change of environment may help. There are cases that after rehabilitation, some don’t have a home to return to. A fact and sad reality of life.
To be sober is something to be made with perseverance, determination and support from family or loved ones.
As to drug addiction, It may start for pleasure until you get the hang of it. Letting go of this addiction is still a long question. It destroys people and humanity.
