He was used to walking on sunshine,

used to the solemn calm of sunrises

the way morning greets the world, hi.

 

She was used to running on moonlight,

used to the solemn silence of sunsets

the way morning bids the world, goodbye.

 

He was used to walking on sunshine,

energized by parks and the beginnings of bustling towns

the way previous nights seem to be forgotten

 

She was used to running on moonlight,

energized by home and the slowing down of cities

the way previous days seem to be extended

 

Maybe, what they thought did not exist,

the best time to meet…

actually exists, as they eventually did.

Their paths converged during afternoons,

probably dusks and dawns, their version at least.

 

… then, there they were

meeting every now and then,

a matter of where, not really when

because sunshine, moonlight, and in-betweens

were just a background of the scenes

along the liquid waves and solid curves,

the gentle breeze and nature’s reserves

bravely without neither hats nor screen,

the starfish seemed like it’s own queen

 

she found peace

where sand, water, and sky met

salt in her hair and a smile on her face,

she knew she was taking the right space
