TOURISM Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) chief Mark Lapid on Monday led the distribution of relief goods in Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet.
As part of his father’s Lingkod Lapid caravan, Lapid together with Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong extended the assistance to some 500 residents at the Baguio City Hall.
Beneficiaries include persons with disabilities, pony boys or horse handlers and guides, barangay tanod, massage therapists and vendors.
“Ako po ang naatasan na magbigay ng tulong para sa ating mga kababayan dito sa Benguet, habang abala naman po ngayon ang aking ama na si Senator Lito Lapid sa pamamahagi ng tulong sa aming mga kababayan naman sa Pampanga na lubog pa rin sa baha hanggang ngayon,” the TIEZA chief operating officer said.
Also present during the distribution were Baguio Councilor John Ray Mananeng, Cordillera Administrative Region Department of Social Welfare and Development Chief Enrique Gascon Jr., and City Social Welfare and Development Officer Liza Bulayungan.
Lapid also led the distribution of relief goods to some 500 farmers and business owners from the MSMEs sector or the micro, small and medium enterprises at the La Trinidad gymnasium.
He was joined by La Trinidad Mayor Roderick Awingan, Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan and other local officials.
Lapid, Awingan, Galwan and CAR DA Executive Director Jennilyn Dawayan also had a meeting at the La Trinidad Municipal Hall.
They discussed Senator Lapid’s “rescue-buy” scheme proposal to purchase unsold vegetables from Benguet and other areas, and proposed tourism infrastructure projects in La Trinidad. NLMonitor
