The National Commission for Culture and the Arts, along with the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), PhilPop Foundation, and the provincial government of Capiz, livens up Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino (LMP) in its 10th year.
Promoting listening habits with Filipino music, LMP 2024 presents a vast array of artists to highlight their music and lyrical ingenuity. Since July 5, LMP 2024 has been running and is prepared to capture an online audience this coming Tuesday, July 23 at 5 p.m. Set to be livestreamed on the NCCA Official Facebook page, LMP 2024’s main artist feature is KAIA.
Consistently gaining popularity, KAIA is a P-pop girl group composed of five members: Angela, Charlotte, Sophia, Alexa, and Charice, managed by SHOWBT Entertainment. They released their pre-debut single “KAYA” on December 10, 2021, and officially debuted with the single “BLAH BLAH” on April 8, 2022.
Officials and representatives from the organizing agency and institutions will share their messages, including National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, followed by the opening remarks from Mr. Arvin Manuel Villalon, commissioner of the Arts of NCCA; Mr. Herminio Jose “Ogie” Alcasid, President of OPM; and Mr. Noel Cabangon, board member of OPM and PhilPop Foundation.
Mr. Juan Gabriel Cabangon, officer-in-charge of OPM, and a representative from the PhilPop Foundation will discuss the overview and objectives of LMP 2024. Additionally, Mr. Alphonsus Tesoro, officer of the Capiz Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office will share the province’s active participation this year.
