Ifugao State University (IFSU) has garnered notable placements in two prestigious global university rankings, steadily realizing its vision of becoming a “globally recognized university upholding excellence amidst rich cultural heritage.” This recognition highlights the university’s dedication to fostering innovation and its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
According to recent announcements this month, IFSU ranked remarkably well in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Rankings 2024: Global Top 300 Innovative Universities. The university achieved third place worldwide and first in the Philippines for the Entrepreneurial Spirit category. Likewise, IFSU claimed seventh place globally and first in the Philippines for the Crisis Management category. It further achieved ninth place worldwide and third in the Philippines for the Symbol (Promotion) category.
This success extends to IFSU’s first-ever participation in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024. The university secured a strong second-place position, tying with the University of the Philippines and De La Salle University, following Ateneo de Manila University in the national rankings. Globally, IFSU falls within the prestigious 401-600 bracket.
Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, IFSU applied for evaluation across 15 SDGs with strong performance in Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Gender Equality (SDG 5), Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
These rankings spotlights IFSU’s significant contributions to industry, society, and its dedication to achieving a more sustainable future. The WURI rankings acknowledge the university’s innovative approaches in education, research, and societal engagement. Meanwhile, the THE Impact Rankings recognize IFSU’s dedication to contributing on the collective effort to achieving the SDGs through its research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching initiatives.
