At least three illegal drug peddlers were arrested while P46,168,000 worth of marijuana plants were uprooted by the Police Regional Office – Cordillera Administrative Region in a series of successful anti-illegal drug operations from September 30 to October 6.
During the weeklong campaign, PRO-CAR conducted 12 operations across the Provinces of Apayao, Benguet, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and the City of Baguio.
These operations led to the confiscation of 153,080 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants, 1,800 marijuana seedlings, and 129,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves.
The most significant operations took place in Mountain Province, with the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (PPO) eradicating P27,000,000 worth of marijuana plants.
Moreover, the Kalinga PPO seized a total of P18,180,000.00 worth of marijuana plants and apprehended a High Value Individual (HVI).
Benguet PPO also successfully seized marijuana plants valued at P988,000 while, Apayao PPO and the Baguio City Police Office both achieved significant success by arresting two suspects identified as HVI during the conduct of separate anti-illegal drug operations.
