ASIPULO, Ifugao – The Asipulo fire station recently inspected at least 64 government-owned buildings in the municipality to ascertain fire safety measures, and compliance to Republic Act 9514, or the Fire Code of the Philippines.
Fire Officer II Van-Nessa Subagan-Buhong said the inspection aims to ensure that government buildings meet fire safety standards, and that occupants are well-prepared to respond effectively to fire emergencies.
Buhong said they particularly looked into fire escape plans and the accessibility of fire exits. She also shared their plan to inspect a minimum of eight buildings monthly as part of their ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of the establishments, and the occupants.
The Bureau of Fire Protection conducts inspections of government-owned establishments, including detention facilities, government offices, public assembly areas, and all other buildings annually during the observance of Government Occupancy Month in February.
