LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Even without Maricar Pilay int eh second and third sets, Tublay hardly broke a sweat to sweep Kibungan, 25-6, 25-14, 25-15, in the Cong. Eric Go Yap Congressional Cup – Benguet Women’s Volleyball League Sunday at the Benguet Sports Complex.
Pilay, who only scored five points in just 12 minutes of action, was the sixth player to arrive with just a minute remaining before defaulting time. Lyka Clemente and Sunshine Cando then led the team in the 45 minutes of action with 13 points apiece.
Clemente had 11 attack points and two aces, while Cando had eight attack points and five service aces.
Ayra Alfredo had 11 points on nine attack points and two service aces.
Charity Bagto scored six on four attack points and two service aces, while setter Sheryl Mary Batil added five, all on attacks.
It was the fifth win in eight games for Tublay whose two losses came from five sets against two of the strongest teams – Tuba and La Trinidad in December 20 which was the last game before the Yuletide break.
Kibungan fell to 2-6 win-loss.
