Trinidad waylays Buguias, joins Itogon at the top

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Will Kean Lee scored a double-double on his debut and lead defending champion La Trinidad to an 88- 57 win over Buguias in the Cong. Eric Go Yap Congressional Cup Benguet Basketball League at the Benguet Sports Complex here Saturday.
Lee, who missed the first two games due to his stint in the Maharlika Professional Basketball League, made 25 points and hauled down 12 rebounds to lead the squad to its third straight win and join Itogon at the top of the 13-team tournament.
He also dished eight assists and five steals in the event backet by Benguet Rep. Eric Yap, the ACT-CIS Partylist, the office of Gov. Melchor Diclas and the Media for Sports Development.
“I had to finish the MPBL games and we fell to defending champion Pampanga in the semifinals,” said Lee, who helped the Cordillera Career Development College win its third Baguio Benguet Educational Athletic League title last year.
Trinidad easily built a 15-point first quarter lead before going to half time with a big 20 point lead, 39-19. Last year’s finals most valuable player Armando Pollante added 10 markers and nine boards.
Fernando Bacani, Jr. led Buguias with 15 markers while pulling out nine boards, two dimes and a steal for the vegetable growing town which fell to 0-2. CEGYCC Release
