LA TRINIDAD, Benguet β Ferdinand Sapalong and Alexander Batanes combined for 41 points and lead Kapangan to a 102-91 win over Tublay in the Cong. Eric Go Yap Congressional Cup Benguet Basketball League at the Benguet Sports Complex here Saturday.
It was yet the best performance for Batanes for Kapangan as he had a game high 22 points, even as Sapalong, the former Itogon player had 19 points and 12 boards to get his first best player of the game this season.
While Rudolf Eilinger and Heavenry Pundag had nine and eight points, respectively, still they topped in the rebound department with 15 and 13, respectively.
The top choice for the rookie of the year award, Eilinger dished eight assists and stole twice.
Arjun Dagwasi led all Tublay scorers with 21 markers, even as Cassie Tagulao, Rey Angelo Jayco and Prado Domorez added 12, 11 and 10 markers in that order.
Kevin Pulagan had a team high 11 boards to compliment his eight-point production.
With the win, Kapangan improved to 5-3 (win-loss), in tie with Bokod at fifth place, while Tublay fell to 3-9. CEGYCC Release
