R1MC still Mpox free

Department of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco strongly denied the presence of an alleged confirmed Monkepox (Mpox) case admitted at the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) in Dagupan City.

“This is to make clear to the public that there is no patient with confirmed case of Mpox admitted currently admitted at R1MC. Huwag po tayong basta-basta maniniwala sa mga nakapost sa mga social media. There is no need to panic dahil wala po tayong kaso ng Mpox sa Pangasinan sa ngayon,” Sydiongco stated.

“Be wary of fake news and social media sites that uses the logo of DOH and WHO. Always get your information on legitimate websites and proper health authorities such as DOH, R1MC official FB page and official news sources,” she emphasized.

R1MC also issued statement on the viral information denying the presence of a confirmed Mpox patient at the facility

Let us all work together to ensure the dissemination of accurate and responsible information,” Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Joseph Roland O. Mejia said.

DOH continues to remind the public to stay informed and vigilant about MPOX (Monkeypox) which is a viral disease that can spread through close contact with infected individuals or contaminated materials.
