The city government of Baguio congratulates and commends Vicky Macay for being recognized as one of the “Indigenous Women Educators” globally by the Indigenous-Led Education (ILED) Network supported by the Rutu Foundation. She is a 70-year-old Ibaloi Elder and cultural leader from Loakan Proper Barangay. She celebrated her lifelong dedication to preserving Indigenous knowledge, culture, and traditions amidst urbanization, including her leadership in Onjon ni Ivadoy Association contributions to Indigenous knowledge contributions. She received a framed copy of the city resolution from Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan, and city council members during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at the Baguio City Hall grounds.
