After tackling the problematic public utility wires at the central business district, the dangling wire clearing operations shifted to the barangays last March 3, 2025.
Daryll Longid, head of the Public Order and Safety Division (POSD) which is spearheading the program in collaboration with the different utility and telecommunication.companies said they started work in the barangays with barangay Honeymoon as the starting point.
Last Feb. 28, the team completed the wire fixing job at Gen. Lim and M.H. Del Pilar to wrap up their activities at the central business district for a while to focus on the interior areas this time.
Longid said that thanked the partner telecommunication companies for their
“efforts and continued support in this endeavor.”
Mayor Benjamin Magalong last year ordered the ongoing aggressive campaign to correct dangling, sagging, tangled and unsightly public utility wires in the city to address public safety and nuisance issues.
He lauded the accomplishments of the team albeit he said the program still has a long way to go to totally cover all the 128 barangays and put in order all the dangerous and ugly wiring infrastructure. Baguio City Public Information Office
