Cordi police confiscates P9.6-M illegal drugs, arrests 9

Over P9.6M Worth of illegal drugs seized while several drug personalities were arrested during Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region a weeklong drug operations from April 7 to 13.

The intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs worth P9,601,620 and the arrest of nine drug personalities during the series of operations.

During the weeklong campaign, 21 operations were conducted, which resulted in the confiscation of 28,638 fully grown marijuana plants, 20,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, 11,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks, and 22.15 grams of shabu.

Of the nine drug personalities apprehended, five were listed as street level individuals (SLIs) and four were identified as high value individuals (HVIs).

Benguet Police Provincial Office led the operations confiscating illegal drugs worth P4,860,520 with two SLIs were arrested (PPO) while Kalinga PPO eradicated marijuana plants with a total of PhP4,600,000.

Baguio City Police Office meanwhile confiscated suspected shabu valued at P121,040 and apprehended three HVIs and two SLIs, while Ifugao PPO arrested one HVI and seized P17,000 worth of shabu, and Apayao PPO nabbed one SLI and confiscated P3,060.00 worth of shabu.

Police Brigadier General David Peredo Jr., regional director of PRO CAR, commended the operatives for their unwavering dedication in the fight against illegal drugs, emphasizing their strong commitment to public safety, community trust, and close collaboration with other government agencies and local communities to build a safer, drug-free region.
