Close to 4,000 jobs up for grabs in Baguio Day jobs fair on Sept. 28

Jobseekers are invited to participate in the Charter Day Job Fair set at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center on September 28, 2024.

Baguio City Public Employment Service Office Manager Romelda Escaño is encouraging jobseekers to grab the job opportunities in the upcoming job fair, in celebration of the city’s 115th Charter Day celebration.

Escaño explained during the Ugnayang Panlungsod on Sept. 18, that the one-day event is a multi service activity that aims to connect job seekers with local and international employers with various job offerings from different companies, as well as with other government agencies providing services.

As of Sept.,18, over 3,592 local job opportunities and 480 jobs abroad will be up for grabs.

Listed vacancies include sales representatives, security managers, accounting staff, warehouse helpers, social welfare assistants, and more. For overseas jobs, vacancies are mostly in the field of healthcare such as caregivers and nurse assistants, according to Escaño.

A one-stop shop for government services, a livelihood fair, and business counseling services will be conducted by participating agencies such as the Social Security System, PAGIBIG, Department of Foreign Affairs, PhilHealth and the Department of Trade and Industry, among others.

This initiative seeks to encourage attendees to think about starting their own business and managing feasible career options.

Escaño reminded jobseekers to dress in smart casual attire and conduct research on potential employers to understand company culture and policies.

They should bring several copies of your Resume /Curriculum Vitae, school credentials, and relevant employment/training certificates. She clarified that the job fair is not for Baguio residents only. Residents of Benguet and other nearby towns are welcome. She assured that there will be no discrimination during the activity.
