City wall murals inspire

The inclement weather did not stop the various tourism stakeholders and the Baguio City officials and residents in launching the “Biodiversity of Love” Mural Project along Kennon Road on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Department of Tourism-Cordillera Regional Director Jovita Ganongan with Congressman Mark Go, Mayor Benjamin Magalong, and the Sin-agi Arts Group led by Councilor Leandro Yangot led the launching ceremony at the Uabac section at Camp 7, Baguio City along Kennon Road. The activity was also graced by DENR-CAR Regional Executive Director Paquito Moreno Jr. represented by Assistant Regional Director Benjamin Ventura, DPWH-CAR RD Khadaffy Tanggol represented by Engr. Jason David of DPWH-Baguio City District Engineering Office.

The mural project along the historic Kennon Road presents the biodiversity of the Cordillera particularly the rich flora and fauna of the region such as the Philippine eagle found in Apayao, the rafflesia flower found in the forests of Kalinga and Apayao, the Kalao bird or the Philippine Hornbill, the river and other waterways, the flowers and the rice terraces of the different provinces of the Cordillera region, among others.
