Kamusta ka Pilipinas Kong mahal? Kamusta ang kalusugang pangkaisipan mo? It’s been a while, how have you been?
The drama unfolds at the Senate while Filipinos are thriving and struggling. High fuel rates are looming. Meanwhile, corruption is evident in our midst. What have we done as Filipinos to deserve this?
In a chaotic world where we are taught the existence of “kapwa” and the right to choose empathy, when do we say enough is enough? Choosing “kapwa” and empathy sometimes make up for certain abuses.
It is hard to explain how opinions and loyalties may shift not gradually but abruptly. What is right from wrong are makeshifts prepared through strong values. But these values, may even be reared differently especially in a world that manifests the system of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer and poorer. Even opinions and beliefs are so diverse that we become close-minded in a dynamically changing world. What opinion you have is your right, but that right ends when you harm others or at least bring damage to a system that should be pro-people and pro-Filipino.
Boundaries, knowing when enough is enough. The limitations set by your mind to discern what is right and wrong. The right to say, my peace and mental health are affected. Let me not be bothered by things I have no control of. The right to be “manhid” especially when trying to choose battles. Such is the irony and the reality of things and of life.
In the drama happening now, even reality shows are no match for the political telenovelas happening everyday. They fade programs for mental health, programs for the farmers and plans and activities that should have been dealt with as urgent matters. What I can say is, be ready to protect your peace. Let the boundaries you set not destroy the metes and limits your mind can take.
This is me saying, “Kamusta ka na?” and listening without judgements. Hugs to all Filipinos and damned all that politics.
Are we proud to be Filipinos even for our mental health at least? But we are Filipinos by blood and kin, we, especially the poor have no other choice but to survive the way we can – to survive without losing our sanity. Keep yourself sane, take care and protect your mental health. In a world that destroys, let your boundaries build you and the truth set you, truly, free.
