Sixty – one municipalities in the Cordillera region recorded zero crime incidents while authorities collared 52 wanted personalities in a series of manhunt operations conducted from Sept. 6 to 12.
Data from the Police Regional Office – Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO – CAR) showed that heightened patrols and community coordination yielded zero reported crime incidents in 24 municipalities in Abra, nine each in Mountain Province and Ifugao, eight in Benguet, six in Apayao, five in Kalinga, and Police Station 4 of the Baguio City Police Office.
Police also arrested 52 fugitives, 20 of whom were categorized as Top Most Wanted Persons while four of the high-profile suspects were listed at the regional level, eight at the provincial level, and eight at the municipal level, while the remaining 32 were listed as other wanted persons.
“These results emphasize PRO CAR’s continuing efforts to locate wanted persons, prevent criminal activities, and maintain a visible police presence in our communities,” the Regional Public Information Office said in a statement. “PRO CAR will continue to enhance its operations and patrols to maintain peace and order and ensure the safety and security of the region.”
The Baguio City Police Office led the manhunt operations with 22 arrests, followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office with 14. Operating units in Kalinga arrested five suspects, Abra made four arrests, Ifugao recorded three, and Apayao and Mountain Province accounted for two arrests each.
Investigative units also maintained strong operational momentum over the seven-day period, recording a Crime Clearance Efficiency rate of 74.29 percent and a Crime Solution Efficiency rate of 72.86 percent.
