Yap delivers new ambulance for BFP – Benguet

In a move set to speed-up the emergency response capabilities of the Bureau of Fire Protection – Benguet (BFP), Congressman Eric Go Yap recently donated a fully-equipped ambulance further enhancing its response time to emergencies.

“Just last week, tinurn over ang pinangako nating ambulansya sa BFP. Since it would take longer to request from the national government, tayo na mismo ang bumili ng ambulansya mula sa ating personal funds para magamit na agad ng BFP sa pagresponde,” said Yap.

The ambulance, equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities will ensure that firefighters can provide immediate assistance to those in need, drastically reducing response times and potentially saving lives.

Yap also emphasized the importance of bolstering emergency response infrastructure, especially in disaster-prone areas like Benguet saying ensuring the safety and well-being of Benguet residents remains a priority.

“Kumpleto ang gamit sa ambulanysa, lalong na-equip ang ating firefighters para mas mabilis at mas maagap na makaresponde sa fire and medical emergencies,” Yap added.

The ambulance donation, added Yap, also underscores the collaborative efforts between the government and private sector in fortifying emergency response systems in the province as climate change continues to amplify the frequency and severity of natural disasters, investments in robust emergency infrastructure become increasingly imperative.

“Nakausap natin ang BFP to discuss our initiatives kung paano pa mas iboost ang kanilang capacity, lalo na sunod-sunod ang forest fires earlier this year. Ni-raise nila na kailangan nila ng ambulansya para magamit sa ating probinsya,” Yap said.

Yap added the donation is expected to significantly enhance the BFP’s capacity to respond to medical emergencies, particularly in remote areas where access to healthcare facilities may be limited.

The solon also highlighted the importance of equipping the BFP with modern resources and with the fully-equipped ambulance, firefighters in the province can deliver timely and effective medical assistance to those in need.

Yap, since coming to Benguet in 2020, has been in the forefront of helping improve medical services in the province.

In 2021, the solon, using personal funds, donated 13 fully equipped 4X4 ambulance to all the municipalities of Benguet and one to Benguet General Hospital enhancing the delivery of health care services in the province. Roderick Osis
