UNDAS generally peaceful in Baguio – BCPO

Commemoration of the All Saints and All Souls Day in Baguio City remain peaceful.

According to the Baguio City Police Office(BCPO), the Summer Capital was generally peaceful and orderly on the first day of Undas 2026, recording zero crimes or untoward incidents in local cemeteries, columbaria, memorial parks, and transport terminals.

Police personnel maintained a heightened visible presence across designated areas to monitor compliance with security protocols and safeguard the public.

The BCPO said based on their inspections, authorities did not record any violations of imposed restrictions or confiscations of banned goods, though several visitors voluntarily surrendered prohibited items at designated stop-and-frisk checkpoints.

Traffic conditions across Baguio City remained manageable throughout the day, despite localized congestion near cemeteries caused by the influx of visitors paying respect to their departed loved ones as Traffic personnel were strategically deployed along key routes continue to manage vehicle flow and assist motorists.

“We urge everyone to remain vigilant, observe established safety guidelines, and cooperate with our police personnel and other authorities,” said Police Col. Nixon Laoyanm, BCPO city director said. “Let us all do our part in maintaining peace and order by acting responsibly and remaining mindful of our surroundings. Everyone’s cooperation is vital in ensuring a safe and peaceful observance of Undas.” NLMonitor
