The National CPR day(Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation day)

he nationwide CPR Campaign dubbed “ZapPinas: AED sa Pamamayan, Dugtong Buhay yan” was held on July 16, 2023, at the Baguio City National High School. It was spearheaded by Pres. Dr. Bernadette B. Valdez of the Philippine Heart Association Baguio-Benguet Chapter and in partnership with the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center and the Rotaract Club of Baguio SLU-School of Medicine headed by Pres. Angelica Lee A. Villanueva.
More than 250 participants from different sectors of the community such as photographers, entrepreneurs, secretaries, housekeeping, security, clerical, accounting, social workers, medical and rad tech students, nurses, and doctors attended the lecture.
The activity covers the 5Cs of CPR:
  • Check – Assess Victim from a Safe Distance
  • Call – Quickly call for help
  • Cover – Protect yourself and the patient with a facemask or clean cloth
  • Compress – Do hands-only CPR
  • Connect – Go for an early defibrillator using the Automated External Defibrillator.
This event encourages lay people to learn and do CPR for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests with confidence.
