Team Lakay’s Bumina-ang looking to hurdle Chinese foe

If there’s one advantage that Carlo Von Bumina-ang has against his past rivals, it will be his discipline.

Aside from the fact the Bumina-ang is unbeaten in all of his three ONE Friday Fights appearances, it’s his determination and focus when it comes to training that makes him among the best up and coming fighters in the promotion.

With his electrifying performances, Bumina-ang has earned him a reputation as a dynamic and versatile fighter, capable of delivering both on his feet and on the ground.

Even Team Lakay coach Mark Sangiao is awed with Bumina-ang’s work ethics in the gym.

“After his fight last December, he just had a short break then went immediately back to the gym,” Sangiao said.

In his last outing in December, hardly broke a sweat as he delivered a two-punch knockout of Ilyas Dursun in just 23 seconds.

The Team lakay bet connected with a right hook, sending his Turkish foe to the floor then following it up with a left straight that sent Dursun to the ropes.

Bumina-ang is set to take on China’s Xie Zhipeng for ONE Friday Fights 50 set February 2 in Bangkok, Thailand as he seeks to earn another victory that could propel him in the main roster of One Championship.

“Advantage ni Carlo is yung kanyang skills, mapa grappling, wrestling or striking,” added Sangiao.

Zhipeng will be making his debut in the ONE Championship promotion, carrying an unblemished 3-0 record into the contest.

The Chinese fighter has built a name for himself with a mix of striking and grappling skills, showcasing his versatility inside the cage.

With a knockout and submission to his name, Zhipeng has displayed a well-rounded game that poses a threat to any opponent making his bout against Bumina-ang one of the most anticipated in the fight card.

ONE Friday Fights 50 will be headlined by a three-round pro Muay Thai bout between Yodphupha Wimanair against KomAwut FAGroup with Kongklai AnnyMuayThai taking on P. Lukjaomaesaiwaree in the co – main event.

Sangiao meanwhile expressed his appreciation to Benguet Cong. Eric Go Yap, who serves as the team manager, for his continued and unwavering support to Team Lakay. NLMonitor
