Melver Paran of Sablan Kafagway Eagles proved he was the better fighter after scoring a unanimous decision win against a visiting Joven Sasuta of Pasig Kickboxing Team in the main event of Mayor Dacumos Knock Out Challenge Kickboxing Invitational Tournament in Sablan, Benguet.
Paran led the local’s onslaught in the event organized by Kafagway Combat Sports Promotions in cooperation with the Municipality of Sablan as part of the town’s Fruit Festival celebration.
Coach Bryan Olod of Kafagway Combat Sports Promotions said the combat sports event is now on its third year which kicked off in 2018 and was eventually institutionalized since 2023.
“We are thankful to our national sports association (Samahang Kickboxing ng Pilipinas) for sanctioning this event and providing the equipment and gears including rule set. All technical officials are also accredited by our NSA,” said Olod.
In the co – main event, Shander Alley Casel of Kafagway MMA/Dojo Kaijen finished Keanu Ryan Osingat in the third round of the event also backed by Samahang Kickboxing ng Pilipinas.
Curtis Kitong of Dojo Kaizen 2600 made short work of Ralph Lois Berganten from Rizal Kickboxing Association of Montalban, Rizal with a second round knock – out with Gerwin Lete of Sablan NHS Kafagway Eagles stopping Marl Jezryl Soria of Malayan Combat Sports from Lidlidda, Ilocos Sur in the first round.
Jan Michael Tabunot of Wild Dogs MMA Bantay, Ilocos Sur joined also had a first round knock – out win against Cymon Lacap of Pasig Kickboxing Team while Jezrel Balantan of Wolves Den MMA Itogon, Benguet scored a referee stoppage contest in the first round against Hart Jason Benwasen of Sablan NHS Kafagway Eagles.
Johnden Aldana Jr. of Pasig Kickboxing Team saved the day for the visiting Pasig squad scoring a victory on points against Marvin Sicomen Jr. from Team Sabung Beckel, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Kim Lawrence Estacio of Tribu Banwar Tabuk City, Kalinga edged Jason Co of Brave Mountaineers Bontoc, Mt. Province as Allan Pena III of Wild Dogs MMA Bantay, Ilocos Sur toppled Marwin Ronquillo of Draon Boxing Stable of Pasig City by points.
Arman Malhi of Dojo Kaizen 2600 edged Vincent Alexander Cablay Darao of Malayan Combat Sports from Lidlidda, Ilocos Sur while Alexander Tagure of Tribu Banwar escaped Sean Kurt Lipiano of Dragon Boxing Stable from Baguio City.
Winning on points is Viggo Dangiwan of Pinget NHS Kafagway Panthers against Shakespeare Bacacao
of Team Tribu Banwar with Darwin Tumandao of Pasig Kickboxing Team narrowly won on points against Angelo Pagali of Wolves Den MMA.
