LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Kabayan swept cellar dweller Bakun, 25-13, 25-10, 25-10 in just 47 minutes to take its third win in the Cong. Eric Go Yap Congressional Cup – Benguet Women’s Volleyball League Sunday at the Benguet Sports Complex.
Eloisa and Myles Codiaman combined for 22 points to lead the Mount Pulag residents past Bakun which wilted under their attacks.
It was the older Eloisa who led the team in the first set where she scored seven of her 13 points, five from the service area, while Myles took over the offense in the second set where she made seven of her nine points in that period alone.
Eloise then joined her sister in the third set where she led the offense anew with six to finish off the game.
Luz Kigingan backed the sisters with her 11 points, six of which came in the second set while Heaven Leigh Benito chipped in seven points on five attacks and two service aces.
Kabayan will have a hard three game grind the next days with powerhouse and top seed Sablan on Sunday, Itogon on January 19, Tublay on January 22 and La Trinidad on January 25.
It will close its campaign when it faces Bokod on January 26. It was the seventh loss of the winless Bakun.
