Looking back at his past performances, Iñigo Anton believes his upcoming stint in the Formula 4 Southeast Asia (SEA) Championship starting next month will be a test of how he has matured as a race car driver.
Anton, backed by Motul Philippines Infiniteserv International, said the lessons he learned in his F4 stint since 2023 will be a great help in improving his over – all finish.
“I have to learn from my mistakes from last year’s experience. I need to balance being quick and movement should be calculated ,” said Anton during a press conference Friday morning at Sizzling Plate Leonard Wood.
The F4 Championship, organized by Topspeed, will run from May to September, with a total of 15 races. The championship will utilize Tatuus T421 Gen 2 cars, powered by FIAT Abarth Turbo engines, similar to those used in many FIA F4 Championships worldwide.
Sepang will host the first two rounds of the 2025 season on May 2-4 and June 6-8, then round three will take place at a yet to be determined Thai track in July.
Buriram, the former Thai venue of F4 SEA races, will hold round four on August 9-11 and then the season will conclude at Sepang on September 5-7.
Last year, Anton cliched back to back rookie race wins in F4 Australia while clinching the title in the 2024 Toyota Gazoo Rcing Vios Cup, owning the distinction of being the only racer who has won the race twice.
Anton also won championships in both Formula V1 and Radical Cars Philippines.
“I just have to embrace the pressure. There is always a risk. O just need to be calm, and zero out my emotions then focus on the race,” added the racing phenom, accompanied by his multi-titled race car driver father Carlos, and mother Karen.
Iñigo will once again be driving for the Black Arts racing team coached by former F1 driver Alex Yoong. Roderick Osis
