Green Water II bags top honors in 4th CGFI Golf Cup

Local squad Green Water II ruled the premier men’s Regular A division of the 4th Cordillera Golfers Foundation Inc. (CGFI) Golf Tournament, finishing with 352 points after three demanding rounds at John Hay Golf Club and Pinewoods Golf Club.

The team of George Punasen, Garry Puckett, Douglas Puckett, and Suny Fontilea outplayed Davao Eagle Masters II, which settled for second with 331 points. The runner-up team was composed of Cris Tan, Roderick Lo, Regino Capa, and Larry Baluso.

The Baguio Jungolf Association team — Marco Angheng, Nathan Belandres, Sebastian Saycon, and William Sulit — placed third with 297 points. The group, aged 10 to 17, delivered a notable performance against seasoned competitors.

The tournament, considered the biggest charity golf event in Northern Luzon, drew nearly 400 players from 94 teams across the country and overseas.

In the men’s Regular B division, Team Mankayan — Ramon Alimba, Donald Daganos, Daniel Mangallay, and Henry Rosito — clinched the title with 275 points. Team USA iGolfers 2 finished second with 266 points, while Palm Groove took third with 256 points.

Gwardia Sibil 1 captured the Regular C crown with 244 points, edging Fearsome Foursome by a single point. Team USA SoCal iGolfers 1 placed third with 228 points.

The Kalinga Mountaineers–Jubilla ruled the Regular D division with 243 points, followed by Summit Mountaineers with 239 points. Fourma finished third with 220 points.

In the ladies division, Baguio Olympics 1 emerged as champion with 302 points, led by Carmela Bumactao, Demma Dulnuan, Angel Ruth Gonzales, and Annika Molintas. Igolfers USA Team 13 placed second with 293 points, while Baguio Olympics 2 settled for third with 272 points.

The Baguio Beans topped the seniors division with 468 points. Members included Johnny Balaki, Wilfredo Eslao, Joseph Galera, and Toots Marasigan. 3K Immipugo placed second with 463 points, followed by Philex Golf Team with 459 points.

In seniors Class B, Team Pugo Adventure led with 479 points. Retired and Extremely Dangerous placed second with 546 points, while Fairway Strikers finished third with 454 points.

Davao Eagle Masters 1 dominated seniors Class C with 433 points, followed by Isabela Thunders with 420 points. U.P. Pagta placed third with 389 points.

In seniors Class D, Fakawe III secured the title with 389 points. Team USA Golfers 12 came in second with 344 points, while Ropali-IGC placed third with 336 points. CGFI Release
