BFFI to refund vendors, give aid  

The Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Inc. (BFFI) will provide financial aid to stall owners recovering from a vehicular accident at the Upper Session Road area.

The incident occurred Wednesday evening (March 5, 2026) during Session Road in Bloom (SRB) when a vehicle lost control, striking several stalls and injuring staff members.

Andrew Pinero, Chairman of the BFFI Media Committee, confirmed that medical assistance was provided immediately.

“Further, we are making arrangements for the refund of their rent, initiated by the organizers as additional help,” Pinero said.

The accident took place in the vicinity of the Baguio Cathedral along Fr. Carlu Street when a vehicle crashed head-on into food and merchandise stalls situated in the elevated area; while no fatalities were reported, several victims sustained injuries due to the impact.

For the weeklong SRB, there are close to 400 stalls which gathered to sell products form various point of the country. The annual Panagbenga street bazaar showcases food, dry goods, apparel and art piece which complement Baguio’s cultural heritage.

Pinero said official results of investigation are being awaited from police “We are waiting for the result of the investigation so proper charges will be made.”

Beyond medical assistance already provided to injured staff, Pinero said organizers are working to ensure those impacted receive additional support while police investigations continue.

For the SRB, over 40 uniformed police personnel have likewise been deployed along the stretch of the area in a bid to keep the peace.
