More than P11 million worth of illegal drugs while seven where arrested in a weeklong operation of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO – CAR) from December 1 to 7 as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the anti-illegal drugs campaign
Throughout the week, PRO CAR carried out 15 operations, consisting of nine marijuana eradication operations, four buy-bust operations, one implementation of a search warrant, and one police response.
These efforts resulted in the seizure of 53,960 fully grown marijuana plants, 18,400 marijuana seedlings, 9 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, and 5.41 grams of suspected shabu with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP11,565,868.
During the operation, seven drug personalities were arrested, one of whom was listed as a High Value Individual (HVI) and six were identified as Street Level Individuals (SLIs).
The Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) confiscated P7,645,816 worth of illegal drugs and arrested two SLIs and one HVI, and in Kalinga, where the Kalinga PPO confiscated P3,904,480 worth of illegal drugs and nabbed three SLIs.
Meanwhile, in Abra, P8,500 worth of suspected shabu were seized and one SLI was apprehended by the Abra PPO, and in Apayao, P7,072 worth of shabu were confiscated by the Apayao PPO.
