LA TRINIDAD, Benguet โ€“ Bokod came back strong as it buried the pain of Saturdayโ€™s surprise loss to Kapangan with a no sweat 91-42 win over Sablan in the Cong. Eric Go Yap Congressional Cup at the La Trinidad municipal gym here Tuesday.

Bokod never felt threated and gave up the lead only once to Sablan, 10-11, halfway into the first quarter, but it ended the period with an 18-0 run for a 28-11 lead.

โ€œWe need conditioning. We need to have time to train together,โ€ said Bokod coach Jovencio Caleno referring to the 19 – point loss to Kapangan in Itogon last Saturday.

โ€œIt was one of those days when the players are just really off,โ€ added Caleno, who used his second and third stringers in the game versus Sablan.

Former Cordillera Career Development College players Nestor Cuilan and Ray Pulac started hot for Bokod which led 8-5.

But Jim Coyom scored Sablanโ€™s first seven points including a steal on fellow fireman Rey Gabino.

From there, Bokod distanced itself from Sablan, building a 27 – point halftime lead, 48-21. That led ballooned to 37 by the end of the third canto.

Cuilan and Gabino led Bokod with 10 points each, with the former, a CCDC alumnus adding five boards, two assists and a single steal to take top honors.

Rey Bilibli and Pulac added eight points each.

Khurt Ciano led all Sablan scorers with nine, while Diether Bulso had seven on top of a game best 11 rebounds. CEGYCC Release
