Camp John Hay opens Tranquility Park

An 896-square-meter Tranquility Park at Camp John Hay dedicated to wellness, meditation, and community reflection opened to the public.

The park is part of John Hay Management Corp. (JHMC) ongoing initiative to expand the area’s attractions while preserving its historical identity as a rest and recreation site.

JHMC President Manjit Singh Reandi led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, emphasizing that the park’s opening represents a long-term commitment to the environment.

“Development means sustaining what we have built,” Reandi told staff and service providers. “Let us help one another to preserve and nurture it. The opening of a project does not mark the end of responsibility; it marks the beginning of it.”

The park’s design pays homage to Camp John Hay’s heritage as a retreat for U.S. soldiers during World War II. Architect Leonardo Biasura Jr. designed the space in collaboration with JHMC’s project management, environment, and general services divisions, as well as the Aesthetic Enhancement Committee.

The layout focuses on symmetrical balance and includes several key features a central meditation statue, landscaped walkways designed for exercise and relaxation, open areas intended for social connection and mindfulness activities.

According to JHMC, the park is intended to provide a serene environment where the public can escape daily stresses through a blend of modern wellness and natural harmony. NLMonitor
