Multi-titled Filipino racing driver Iñigo Anton is set for another run in Formula 4 (F4) during the upcoming Formula One race weekend in Malaysia.
The announcement, made via a TikTok video uploaded on his official social media account (@inigo_anton), confirmed that Anton will line up on Oct. 4 at the iconic Sepang International Circuit.
“Representing the Philippines during an F1 weekend is going to be the biggest moment of my career so far,” Anton said in his video release.
The race will be part of the F1 weekend which is heading back to Malaysia for the first time in nine years as the Bahrain Grand Prix was rescheduled there for Oct. 4 after races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, which had been set for March and April, was cancelled when the Iran war escalated.
Despite taking place in Malaysia, the race will still have Bahrain Grand Prix branding.
Partnering with Axle Sports and Motul Infiniteserv, Anton’s outing marks another step in his open-wheel journey, having made his F4 debut at Sepang in late 2023 with BlackArts Racing before capturing the 2025 Formula 4 Southeast Asia (F4 SEA) Rookie Championship, becoming the first Filipino driver to win the title.
The announcement adds to a decorated career for the 20-year-old phenom, who made history in 2022 by becoming the first Filipino driver to win three different championships in a single year—the Radical Philippines, Philippine Grand Touring Championship, and the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup Super-Sporting Class—before being named Circuit Racing Driver of the Year by the Automobile Association of the Philippines.
