City joins international sustainability meet

The City Planning, Development and Sustainability Office (CPDSO) under Ar. Donna Rillera Tabangin joined the 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, August 11–13, 2025 at the Hotel InterContinental/KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, organized by ERIA, CityNet and other partners.

The event brought together experts and innovators to examine how Digital Twin technology can help Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) cities develop smarter, more resilient, and sustainable urban communities.

Tabangin said thematic sessions focused on innovative applications of Digital Twin in low-carbon transition, circular economy, climate, and disaster resilience while policy discussions tackled governance, data interoperability, and investment models for sustainable deployment.

During panel sessions that featured insights from global experts, Tabangin contributed on the social implications and future direction of Digital Twin for sustainability.

She said side events and field visits showcased real-world applications of Digital Twin in urban innovation.

Other than the Philippines (Baguio City), other participating countries and organizations are Indonesia (Jakarta), Malaysia (DBKL, Technology University of Malaysia, International Islamic University of Malaysia, Malaysia Smart City Alliance), Singapore (Meinhardt, IESVE), South Korea (University of Seoul, CityNet Seoul), China (Shanghai), United States (Philadelphia – YH Lab), Canada (Toronto), Portugal, Italy, France, Japan (Cool Japan Public-Private Platform), India (Navi Mumbai), and Thailand (Naresuan University).
