A couple of times, I’ve wondered what is the meaning of life and why we often lose hope. Trigger warning, even headlines talk about losing the will to live. If there’s anything I can say to those who’s losing it, it’s that tomorrow is full of surprises.
I mean, don’t you get excited just thinking about tomorrows? It’s one thought that could make one carry on. The thought of surviving through it all – of winning, succeeding and thriving through it all.
You might say, it’s easy for you to say or that I’m invalidating your feelings. But truth of the matter is, life is tomorrow’s mystery. Your life is like a mystery book waiting to be opened – a story waiting to be told and surely, your story isn’t over yet.
I don’t know if you believe this, but most of us who go through the tough times are the ones meant to be stronger. For sometimes, we have to go through things to find our strength. Yes, we are stronger many times more than we think that we are not.
Sometimes, the mind is deceiving. Our imagination is far from realities. We may hear voices that tell us we are not worth it. But the truth is, we occupy spaces and we are matter who matters. We all have a significant purpose in this paradigm called life.
Maybe sometimes we overthink, but overthinking is brought about by our past experiences – the ones made of fears and traumas. Yet, we are not our past. We are our future – wiser and better.
I do hope you find a reason to smile. Even if it is just the blessing of another day or a love story of self-care, no amount of bullying could take away what you are or how you believe yourself to be. In your tomorrows, you will eventually win or lose but you will be stronger so never give up.
Ask yourself facing a mirror, “How am I today? I may not be okay but I know, I will be better in time”. Make that affirmation today and hope, if it’s the only reason to cope. Yes, pause if you must and fall five times but get back up 10 times. You can do it!
