The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) track and field oval at Teacher’s Camp is now open to the public from 3:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, free of charge.
This initiative came on the heels of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA) pronouncement that the PSC track and field ovals will open to the public, in support also of the athletes.
“Kindly note that we are still fine-tuning our operations, but we are happy to welcome you all back to the tracks,” the PSC said in a statement.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong earlier said that the PSC Baguio Track Oval has been programmed for rehabilitation.
Magalong said the city government is looking forward to reviving the Teacher’s Camp athletic facility and actively serving as a training ground for local and national athletes.
“It will definitely be a big boost to our city’s sports and youth development programs,” the mayor said.
The PSC, with its various partners, has already relaunched the Strength Training Room at the track oval.
The National Academy of Sports said this facility serves as a vital space for athlete development, providing top-notch training equipment to help build strength, endurance, and peak performance.
The PSC facility is equipped with a track oval, gym, and dormitory. PIA – CAR
