Obengers Racing Team once again showcased teamwork as it claimed the Toyota Gazoo Racing PH Cup Overall Team Champion.
Showcasing their skill, teamwork, and dedication throughout the season were team racers Iñigo Anton, Senator JV Ejercito, Jesse Garcia, Joaquin Garrido and Julia De Los Angeles. Their triumph as a team highlights the competitive spirit that defines the Philippine Cup.
At the heart of the race is the locally-produced Toyota Vios—an embodiment of Filipino innovation and automotive craftsmanship. To ensure a level playing field, all participants competed using Vios models with identical modifications, emphasizing driver talent and strategy above all else.
Baguio Boy, racing phenom Iñigo Anton remains the only back-to-back TGR Philippine Cup Super Sporting Overall Champion.
Due to his absence in the season’s TGR Round 2, as he was racing in Formula 4 abroad, Anton was unable to accumulate enough points for the individual championship.
However, his victory in Sprint Race 6, combined with the points earned by his teammates from Obengers Racing, secured the overall team championship for the whole season. Inigo’s teammate, Jesse Garcia, emerged as the Sporting Class Overall Champion.
The team credits their victory to their incredible race coaches, engineers, managers, and crew—all of whom are hardworking and talented.
Since its launch in 2014, the TGR Philippine Cup has established itself as the leading one-make racing series in the Philippines. The series is home to some of the nation’s top drivers and has a rich history of nurturing new talent, turning passionate racers into racing champions.
Anton is supported by Obengers Racing, Toyota Balintawak, Motul Philippine Infiniteserv, Alpinestars, Yokohama Advan, BLU Coffee, and Time Master Watches. NLMonitor
