DOH, Ilocos Sur opens news hospital

Access to faster, safer, and more compassionate healthcare took a major leap forward in Ilocos Sur as the Department of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Region and the Provincial Government opens new facilities in two districts hospitals, particularly in Sinait and Narvacan on December 15 and 18, 2025, respectively, bringing quality health services closer to communities.

In Narvacan, the Ilocos Sur District Hospital–Narvacan (ISDHN) inaugurated its new Emergency Room–Outpatient Department–Public Health Unit (ER–OPD–PHU) Building, a critical addition designed to improve emergency response, outpatient care, and public health services. The milestone was immediately followed by the Groundbreaking Ceremony for a proposed two-storey Pediatric Building, underscoring the province’s strong focus on protecting and nurturing child health.

In Sinait, another landmark development unfolded as the Ilocos Sur District Hospital–Sinait inaugurated and blessed its newly constructed Emergency Room, Laboratory, Outpatient Department, and Wards Building on 15 December 2025.

With an expanded 33-bed capacity and solar-powered facilities, the upgraded Sinait hospital reflects the province’s commitment to sustainable, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare, ensuring that communities benefit from modern facilities while promoting environmental responsibility.

Regional Director Dr. Paula Paz M. Sydiongco, who led the inauguration ceremonies, said that when national government and local leaders work hand in hand, the result is healthcare that truly reaches the people. “These developments will further strengthen our emergency response, improve access to quality care, and bring us closer to our goal of a healthier and more resilient Ilocos Sur,” she stated.

“More than new buildings, these milestones represent a shared vision of safer hospitals, faster care, and healthier communities—a vision made possible through strong leadership, collaboration, and sustained investment in public health,” Sydiongco added.

Gratitude was extended to Governor Jerry Singson for his consistent support and strong advocacy for public health, and to the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur for prioritizing healthcare infrastructure as a key investment in people’s well-being.
