Blooms of Love opens at Porta Vaga

BAGUIO CITY — A collective of 25 local artists launched “The Awakening: Blooms of Love” art exhibit at Porta Vaga on February 1, to coincide with the city’s Panagbenga Flower Festival and the Valentine season.

Spearheaded by writer and mental health advocate Zylan Yvonne Blando, the exhibit features the Halik ng Likha artist collective. The collection is on display at the building’s second floor and will run through February 28, 2026.

The exhibit  represents a transformative shift toward a higher purpose. The collective defines its work as a “soul-to-soul connection,” utilizing art as a form of shadow work to allow for free expression and connectivity among creators.

The exhibit showcases a diverse range of styles from both emerging and professional painters artists including: Bets BL, Karyll Aguilar, Brawland Balad, Gracia Banasan, Kyle Daryll Bayas, Rosheena and Darleene Bomowey, Leslie Dulfo, Albert and Angela Hagad, Shelah Magno, Ian Jones Malaga, Kristoffer Yosef Maranan, Chelsea and Stacey Maranes, Andrei Nisperos, Kim Pantano, Alice Salupen, Jhomir Shontogan, Jocelyn Ramos, Pablo Ricardo, Angelica Rosalin, Cherry Lou Villavicencio, and Irish Yvonne Almazan.

The month-long event aims to highlight the diverse personalities and narratives of the participating artists through their respective artworks.
