After clinching F4 rookie crown, Anton leads PH squad in APMC

If Inigo Anton’s year is summed up, he can call it a good year.

The Filipino racing phenom not only secured a back – to – back championships but also etched his names in the annals of Philippine racing.

Anton started writing history after becoming the first Filipino to win the Overall Rookie Championship in the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship which ran from May to September, featuring 15 races across five rounds in Malaysia and Thailand with Alex Sawer winning the Drivers’ Championship.

The young Filipino phenom coached by former F1 driver Alex Yoong won the SEA F4 Rookie championship against the best drivers from 11 countries winning in Sepang Malaysia, Buriram and Bangsaen in Thailand on his way to clinching the coveted title.

Aside from bagging the over-all title in the rookie class, Anton placed third in the driver’s championship with his 182 points, behind Sawer (359) and Seth Gilmore (261).

Anton added another prestigious achievement by clinching the gold medal in the Asia Pacific Motorsport Championship (APMC) Slalom Karting Event, bringing pride and glory to the Philippines.

Following his overall rookie title run, Anton then went straight to Sri Lanka to represent the Philippines at the Asia Pacific Motorsport Championship 2025, winning the gold medal at the karting slalom event over 32 of the region’s best racers.

Anton’s gold medal along with another gold, two silvers, and two bronze medals from his equally talented team mates assured the Philippines of the overall crown.

“I still can’t believe it! An F4 title, a gold medal and being part of the team that put our country at number 1 in the whole Asia Pacific region! Dream come true! Proud Pinoy here,” Anton said after the wins.

Host Sri Lanka took home the silver and with Malaysia taking the bronze in the biennial event which saw 210 racers from 26 nations competing in different forms of motorsports like karting, crosscar, gymkhana and e-sports.

“Our congratulations go to Inigo for his outstanding performances,” said Peter Yung of Motul Philippines Infiniteserv. “His dedication and hard work inspire countless young Filipinos and elevate the Philippines’ reputation in motorsport worldwide. Roderick Osis
